How to Care for Your Glass Bowls and Other Glassware
If you use a lot of glass bowls and glassware as your dining set, you have to care very well of it so that it would last longer. Today, most of the family use glassware as their dining set due to its artistic outlook, it will last longer than those plastic made dining set which will fades the color and its dangerous to ones health. Here are some of the tips to care for your glassware.
When you are serving hot drinks, never place the drink glass on a cold surface because the difference of temperature may cause the drink glass to shatter. When you are pouring hot water into a drink glass, ensure that the glass is not cold because it will also cause the glass to shatter. To avoid that, you should pour the hot water to a room temperature drink glass. If you wish to boil with glasses, make sure you select the thicker quality of glass.
When cleaning that glassware, try not to use a dishwasher machine because it may etch your glassware surface which cause by the dish washing detergent. Etching of glassware is a permanent damage to the glassware, there is no way no remove it. To prevent that, that glassware should wash by hand and reduce the amount of dish washing detergent. It is best to hand washing that glassware to prevent dullness from the dish washing detergent.
After washing your glassware, do not try to stack it all together, it may stick all together which will cause difficulty to unstick them. You should wipe away the water on that glassware before stacking them. If you really have two of the glasses which stuck together, try to put warm water into bottom glass while the top one fill with the cool water, so that the bottom glass will expand while the top glass contract. After that, you should be able to unstick the two glasses easily.
Glassware is beautiful and nice to use but without properly care for it, it will damage your glassware and you have to spend money to get a new one. With these tips stated above, your glassware should be able to last for years in good condition.
